Idjut Boys - Versions

Having served up a series of scintillating re-edits from Chicago legend Rahaan (amongst others), Hot Biscuit Recordings has now turned to the undisputed masters of the dubbed-out disco edit, the Idjut Boys. Naturally, the long-serving duo are on form from the word go, chopping up and lightly dubbing out an old dancefloor jazz-funk jam from Lonnie Liston Smith ('Lonnie's Lifting'), before raising the hands skywards with a quick blast of a gospel-fired Sylvester anthem ('I Need U (Reprise)'). On the second slab of wax, they get deep, dreamy, Balearic and saucer-eyed (the fabulous 'Without A Care'), smother a pitched-down electrofunk jam in oodles of space echo ('Tonight (Dub)') and tease out a Latin-flecked disco gem in typically delay-laden fashion. A genuinely killer collection of tried-and-tested re-edits.
